Joranne Joseph

College Campus Outreach

As a college student with lived experience of homelessness, Joranne Joseph brings unique sensitivity and insights to her position as OCLA’s Community College outreach coordinator. While a student at Santa Barbara City College, Joranne was invited to join the Santa Barbara Youth Action Board where she worked with others to consider policy changes offering improved support for college students experiencing homelessness. Drawing on the expertise she gained both while working with young adults as a crisis counselor and as a volunteer for community outreach events designed to uplift homeless youth and families, Joranne is working with OCLA leadership to raise awareness about the WIN What I Need app on select community college campuses in LA County. Bilingual in Haitian Creole and English, Joranne was awarded her AA from Santa Barbara City College and is currently studying for her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and social work from Bay Path University.
